My wife started blogging in February this year. It’s about parenting, cooking, web… the whole nine yards. I urged her to “spice” her blog with some Google ads. It was not her main concern until she saw the month-end report, an earnings close to $200. Not bad.

The problem was that her account was shut down last week. She got this email from Google:

While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your account.

Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Her earnings for March was almost $70 when her account was closed. According to Google’s FAQ, she will not receive her February check, and obviously, this month’s earnings. She sent Google an email arguing on why her account was closed, but to no avail.

Earning money through her blog is now a fact for her, and cannot just be ignored. So, without Google Adsense, she opted to look for an alternative.
